Concrete & Soil Testing

All testing by CCIL-accredited labs. Nuclear gauge: CNSC licence required.

Firestopping: ULC-listed systems only; 3rd-party inspection before concealment
Cx agent: ASHRAE/BCxA certified; functional performance tests all systems
Punch list: Pre-punch 7–10 days before owner walk
Close-out package: All test reports, O&M manuals, as-builts, warranties, Cx report

No concealment before test. Drywall / ceiling cannot close until test is complete & accepted.
Failed concrete cylinder: Notify engineer immediately. Options: cores, load test, or removal.
ULC-S537 readiness: Walk every device before scheduling. Failed verification = $8K–$15K + 2-week delay.
Firestopping ≠ caulking. ULC-listed systems only. Silicone caulk is not a firestop.
Sprinkler hydrostatic: One leaking fitting above sanctuary = thousands in finish damage.
Verify lab accreditation before engagement. Photocopy certificate for QC binder.

Interim blower door test before finishes — $3,500 test vs. $45,000 post-finish repair.
Winter cylinder curing: Insulated heated box on site — frozen cylinders = meaningless results.
ELD on complex church roofs: Finds pinholes invisible to the eye. Cost: $4,500. Value: incalculable.
Pre-punch walk: 50-item list = confidence. 400-item list = concern. Fix before the owner sees it.
Digital QC tracking: Hold points as milestones with mandatory test report uploads.
